Why this website looks like this
My life became quite hectic in the last few years. While I still enjoy making jewelry, I do not have the time and energy to maintain a website. I used to have over 60 pieces listed on Artfire, but that website shutdown. Then the pandemic came around, the demands of work became too great for me to spend anymore hours in front of a computer then I needed to. I installed some Wordpress website after that, but I lacked the time to bring it to a level I would be confortable with. Also, since these have a commenting feature, I ended up having to deal with spam. I could never manage to get WooCommerce to work, then I played with Square to get a store, but I always ended up short on time to fix that. And I want to make jewelry, and craft, and see the world, and touch grass. I spend too much time in front of a computer already. So this is where I ended up.
Very simple website, no code. No bots, no AI, no spam.
Why keep a website then?
Because having these domains still active is worth something, you know, in 20 years, when I retire and do this full time. I am playing the long game here. I love making websites. I have been doing that since 2000. Started on Geocities. Registered my first domain name more than 20 years ago, and have had domains since then. So I like this, as a craft, in a way. Just not the craft I want to focus on currently.
